1. Whataburger

Claim to fame: Burgers and the special ketchup

The Reason:

Yes, the number one fast-food joint in America goes to Texas!

Started in 1950, Whataburger has become a Texas treasure, literally. In 2001, the Texas Legislature proclaimed Whataburger a Texas Treasure, and one would raise an eyebrow to that, but for those that do, you don’t know the power of Whataburger.

They are the pioneers of the fast food world. They were the first chain to embrace breakfast sandwiches on buns, sell breakfast in the late evening, and come up with some truly creative menu items like the Avocado Bacon Burger. Their menu is expansive, but everything on this menu is simply legendary.

That may alarm some In-N-Out fans, but the truth is the truth. Whataburger, from its expansive selections to its burgers, is truly one of a kind. And, don’t get me started on the special ketchup, which no other fast-food restaurant can touch.

All hail Whataburger.

Next. 25 worst fast food menu items ever, ranked. dark

Best menu item: Whataburger Patty Melt

There are patty melts. Then there’s Whataburger’s Patty Melt. The two cannot be compared, as the latter is far superior to any patty melt made anywhere else. It is a must-have, and will quickly become a favorite.

Worst menu item: Egg and Cheese Biscuit

It’s alright, but it’s nothing spectacular. Believe me, there are much better options on their breakfast menu.

And that completes our look at the 25 best fast food chains! Do you agree with our rankings? Is there any fast food chain you feel is too high or too low?
