Say what you want about Roy Rogers, but their fans remind me an awful lot of the type of people who are devoted to all things Taco Bell. They are obsessed, will tolerate no smack talk about the fast food chain and will go to great lengths to enjoy their food.

So while Roy Rogers may not compete with the big boys like Burger King and McDonald’s, they do have their fans and they are some of the most devoted in all of Fast Foodie Nation.

Which is why any announcement about a new addition to the menu is always celebrated and appreciated. Because normally the western-themed restaurant goes outside the box when it comes to innovation and originality.

And the new Roy Rogers item also has bacon. And everyone will tell you anything with bacon is an automatic winner. Say hello to the brand new Sourdough Bacon Cheeseburger.

The Sourdough Bacon Cheeseburger will only be available at Roy Rogers for a limited time.

The Sourdough Bacon Cheeseburger starts with a quarter-pound beef burger that is then topped with a garlic aioli sauce, Smithfield bacon and Monterrey Jack cheese on two piece of toasted sourdough bread.

To help celebrate, Roy Rogers has also announced the return of their fan favorite Onion Rings to the menu. Additionally, they have revealed that the Mint Chip Shake and French Toast Sticks will remain on the menu (for now) due to popular demand.

According to Adam Klaers, Executive Vice President at Roy Rogers, the new Sourdough Bacon Cheeseburger is a logical extension of the chain’s limited time offerings.

"“When looking at the evolution of our menu at Roy Rogers, you can see we continue to prioritize the growing wants and needs of our Royalists through an innovative limited time offer program. The Sourdough Bacon Cheeseburger is a classic burger with a unique twist that we know our guests will love.”"

The Sourdough Bacon Cheeseburger and Onion Rings are now available nationwide, but only for a limited time.
