Cotton candy OREOs are making a return

OREO cookies have come a long way from the original chocolate wafers sandwiched with vanilla creme. Since 1912, OREO has consistently grown a fanbase of serious sandwich cookie lovers. Now the company is reintroducing one of it’s seasonally themed flavors, Cotton Candy OREOs Sandwich Cookies, just in time for summer.
One of the most ubiquitous foods in the warmer months is cotton candy. The fluffy clouds of colored sugar are the dreams of children and adults alike. While we may not always be able to enjoy cotton candy at a local carnival or amusement park, OREO allows us to enjoy the sweet and fun confection with their cotton candy flavored cookies.
Cotton candy OREOs first debuted in 2015 as a Target store exclusive. OREO is not new to summer themed flavors, having also previously introduced flavors like Firework, Key Lime, Watermelon, and Root Beer Float.
In a May 31st Instagram post, OREO announced the flavor’s June 5th relaunch. It is a limited edition flavor which will only be available while supplies last. This time, the cookies will not be a store exclusive and can be found wherever OREO is sold.
Enjoy the return of Cotton candy OREOs while you can!
For those unfamiliar with the Cotton Candy OREO, it is a golden OREO cookie filled with a double-stuffed pink and blue colored cotton candy flavored creme. Online reviews note that the cookie is sweet, but the flavor is on point.
This flavor joins the current OREO lineup that includes other enticing flavors like Toffee Crunch, Chocolate Hazelnut, Java Chip Flavored Creme and Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie. While some fans are ecstatic about the return of the Cotton Candy OREOs, others expressed disappointment in the comments section of the Instagram reveal. There were many pleas for the return of Red Velvet and Blueberry Pie flavors…..so we will have to keep watch and see if OREO will continue to listen to fans’ requests.
