The second season of Is It Cake? (also known as Is It Cake, Too?) is only a couple of weeks away and Netflix just came out with a new trailer. It seems the new season is going to be even more wild and spectacular than the first. Who knew that was possible?

We already know that a new group of ten bakers will compete, Mikey Day is back as host, and the bakers will try to make more hyper-realistic cakes. And it looks like they will be competing for over $100,000 and like usual, one baker will be eliminated at the end of each episode.

I do wonder if they will stick to last year’s formula of keeping the eliminated bakers around to cheer on the still-competing contestants. I hope so. It helped build camaraderie.

From the trailer alone, it looks like the bakers will be making kettlebell weights, toilets, clothes, guitars, tool belts, nachos, and sneakers. And that’s just what they showed us. Who knows what other spectacular creations the bakers will make with cake?

And while they tried to sneak it in with a very quick clip, if you pause it at the right moment, it looks like Crime Scene Kitchen host Joel McHale is going to be one of the judges on one episode. Two of the best baking competition shows are crossing over!!

Is It Cake, Too? hits Netflix on Friday, June 30, 2023 and will consist of eight episodes. Whether you binge it all at once or watch an episode per day, there is one thing for certain. The cakes and the bakers’ skills are going to be extraordinary. Oh, and the judges are probably going to be stumped a lot.
