The Beachside Brawl hosted by Chef Antonia Lofaso is back on the Food Network and this time she has Brian Malarkey and Eric Adjepong with her for more coastal cooking. And once again, we have five chefs from the west taking on five chefs from the east, in a showdown to determine which coast has the best food.

Much like in the first season of Beachside Brawl, this is all about iconic coastal food and even the games we know and love from the boardwalk and the beach. And in this first episode, “Pier Favorites,” it really is all about playing those games to get your ingredients.

For this first episode, the challenge is to create iconic food you might find at the pier. And each team (west coast and east coast), must create dishes inspired by not only the pier, but also their coast.

Beachside Brawl is back for another season of east vs west

Chef Eric Adjepong is the leader of the east coast team, while Chef Brian Malarkey is leading the west coast team. So who is on each team?

East Coast Team:

  • Martel Stone
  • Nick Chavez
  • Cara Nance
  • Wesley Nogueira
  • Samantha Cruz

West Coast Team:

  • Jasmyne Romero-Clark
  • Amanda Smith
  • David Lespron
  • Cesar Oceguera
  • Emily Lim

Which team will represent? Which chef will lead their team to victory? In this battle of east versus west, it is all about coastal cuisine, and it is truly anyone’s game.

We love seeing the fun aspects of the episode, where the chefs are playing literal boardwalk games just for a chance at the best ingredients. And at the same time, it is great getting to see chefs cooking in such a unique environment. There is something to be said for cooking outside, and basically beachside. It adds a different set of challenges that are hard to ignore. And it is something that all of our chefs have to take into account as they get cooking.

With new episodes dropping every Sunday after The Great Food Truck Race, you won’t want to miss this battle for coastal supremacy.
