Summer is the perfect time to partake in some adult beverages. Thankfully, METAXA knows how you’re feeling.
Whether you’re recovering from the 4th of July or are hanging by the pool, the spirit brand has a recipe for you. I know that not everyone loves to drink, but sometimes it’s nice to have a cool sip while you’re enjoying the sunshine.
While these drinks can be enjoyed anywhere, I personally love to drink by the water. It could be a pool, could be the beach, or just outside with the hose. Sometimes, you just need to get cooled down, and that sometimes does the trick.
Regardless of what your taste is or what you’re doing, METAXA shared some fun recipes to help bolster your summer fun.

Starting in Greece, METAXA has now made the voyage to other parts of the world and we’re able to enjoy it as long as it’s available in your area. If you’re able to enjoy a nice cold drink on a hot day, METAXA decided to share some tasty recipes for your next day off, summer barbecue, or brunch at home.
First up is the METAXA Summer Sour which is made with “1.5 oz METAXA 12 Stars, 0.5 ounces of lemon juice, and 0.25 ounces of simple syrup. Optionally, you could add 0.5 egg whites and 2 dashes of Angostura Bitters.” All you have to do is pour the ingredients into a shaker with ice and then strain over ice before garnishing with lemon zest.
The next two recipes are great if you enjoy fruity drinks with the first being the METAXA Mediterranean Paloma which requires 50 ml of METAXA 5 stars, 10 ml of sugar, 10 ml of lime, and 60 ml of grapefruit soda. Then for garnish, they recommend a grapefruit wedge and putting salt on the rim. Essentially, you add all your ingredients to your highball glass aside from the soda, stir it together and then finish with the soda and your grapefruit wedge.
The last recipe the brand shared is for the METAXA Peach Spritzer which has my name all over it. For this one, you’ll need 40 ml of METAXA 7 stars, 40 ml of prosecco, 3 dashes of peach bitters or peach juice, and 20 ml of tonic. From there, you add all the ingredients aside from the tonic and stir before adding your tonic and garnishing with a peach slice. All in all, this sounds like the perfect summer drink for me.
Regardless of which recipe you decide to go with, METAXA is here to cool you off this summer and give you a taste of the Mediterranean. You might not be able to go to Greece but METAXA will give you a taste of Greece at home.
