Worst Cooks in America returns for Season 26 in August

While some foodies love to watch the best of the best compete on shows like Top Chef and Tournament of Champions, there are those of us who like to watch the worst of the worst. So any announcement of a new season of Worst Cooks in America is a reason to celebrate.

Food Network has announced that the culinary “competition” that sees some of the worst cooks in the country compete for bragging rights and a $25,000 grand prize is returning for Season 26. This year Anne Burrell will be joined by returning Blue Team mentor Jeff Mauro.

For the last few years Worst Cooks has adopted a theme to each season, whether that be social media influencers, a particular decade or the very popular celebrity editions and Season 26 is no exception.

The year love will be in the air at Boot Camp for Worst Cooks in America: Love at First Bite.

Worst Cooks in America: Love at First Bite will take 16 singles and throw them in the kitchen so they can learn that food is the real language of love. The contestants will learn to make dishes perfect for date night with challenges that will have a decidedly dating theme to them.

But first, Burrell and Mauro have to pick teams in the bonus sized 90-minute premiere episode. And that means the hilarious and popular Signature Dish Challenge. Or in this case, the Seal the Deal Meal to show just how little they know their way around a kitchen.

At the end of the eight-episode season, a panel of judges including Hawa Hassan, Christian Petroni and Chris Scott will pick the winner. Will they find love as well as learn how to make noodles from scratch? You’ll have to tune in to find out.

Worst Cooks in America: Love at First Bite premieres on Food Network and Discovery Plus on August 6 at 8 PM.
