When it comes to the Bahamas, sand, sun, and surf are at the top of our list for reasons to visit. But did you know the islands are a culinary delight as well.

In the Bahamas, food is as much a part of the culture as the music is. And there are plenty of interesting influences when it comes to enjoying the island foods. In many ways, the Bahamas are a melting pot of the people who have lived there for centuries and the people who visit and decide to stick around. So it makes sense that new restaurants and cuisines would also pop up to entice people to visit.

The newest addition to the Bahamas is an Italian restaurant at Atlantis Paradise Island that is a love letter to Italy courtesy of the Michelin-starred chef, Michael White. This new restaurant is called Paranza, and it has already opened its doors to diners.

According to the Caribbean Journal,

"The menu focuses on seafood, from local conch and green apple aqua pazza verde to linguine with squid ink and crusted strawberry grouper."

It’s a menu that honors both the location it is in (the Bahamas, of course) and Italy. And that’s something we can all appreciate, as we love the fusion of cultures and foods to create something fresh and magical.

Chef White was one of the celebrity chefs at the Nassau Paradise Island Wine and Food Festival that Atlantis hosted earlier in 2023, so it just makes sense for him to find a home there as well. And of course, with such interesting dishes, we can’t help but think that Paranza is just one more reason for many of us to book a trip to the Bahamas so we can experience a culinary whirlwind that includes everything from conch to pasta.

We can’t wait to plan a trip to the Bahamas just for the food and sunshine.
