It is time for another group challenge on MasterChef Season 13. And this time, it’s a “Dodgers Stadium Field Challenge,” feeding 100 kids.

This is a charity event and the MasterChef competitors have to cook up meals (in a basket) for 100 kids who first get to play ball on the field. The red team is the West and Midwest, with the South and Northeast being the blue team.

James is the captain of the red team with Sav being blue team captain (the judges chose them because they felt that these two were flying under the radar). Kolby also has power thanks to his win last week (he is immune from going home even if his team loses as well). He gets to pick one person on the blue team and trade them with someone on the red team. He opts to take Kennedy from the red team and he trades Brynn off of the blue team.

Pretty quickly, we have an issue in the blue kitchen, as the team doesn’t seem to be communicating about ingredients. In fact, one chef (Kennedy) ends up using all of the mayo available to the team on her sauce, which another chef (Nina) needed for their slaw as well.

When the judges did their tasting, the blue team starts off with some negative feedback. The only positive comment is for the sauce. The team is told they have to rethink their dish/basket. But the red team is not safe either, as they seem to have started cooking their burgers way too soon. However, their tasting portion of the judging is a success. So it is all about making adjustments to cook time on the burgers and making sure the fries look like fries.

As the kids are coming to get their baskets of foods from the red team, Gordon Ramsay ends up stopping one group and has to send them to the blue team first. The reason? Because the burgers are cold and in some cases it seems like they are undercooked as well. And the blue team isn’t doing much better, with it clearly being a struggle to get enough chicken cooked to actually feed the kids.

Honestly, it really seems like both teams are struggling here. And the kids are the ones suffering for it. There is also a matter of what kids actually like to eat, with the burgers being a favorite. And yet, the chicken had some fans thanks to the addition of the cheese.

So who ended up winning the kids’ vote? Ultimately, the red team ended up winning. And a lot of that is thanks to the fact that they actually thought about what kids want to eat.

In the end, one member of the blue team is going home, ending their MasterChef dream. Sav, Kendal, and Reagan are in danger of going home, as these are the three members of the team who seemed to struggle the most. So who went home? Kendal was sent home because he was in charge of the chicken.
