It’s time for another sports related challenge on MasterChef, and this time it is all about making food for the average sports fan! For this episode, the top 10 have to elevate the food you might enjoy while watching an NFL game (for instance).

This is the top 10’s time to shine! And for this challenge, they bring back Kelsey Murphy, who won MasterChef Season 11 and used her time on the series to get a contract with a football stadium to create amazing dishes.

Our MasterChef contestants have to make their own elevated stadium food. And after winning the advantage last week, Wayne can penalize one cook by stopping their time in the kitchen for five minutes!

The cooks have 60 minutes for these dishes and there is a lot of flexibility with this challenge. However, it can also be difficult to take a dish you might find at a football stadium and make it something special, elevated, and plate worthy!

So who did Wayne penalize? He actually gave the five minute delay to Jennifer 10 minutes into the challenge. And he did it as she was struggling to get her pressure cooker on, which meant she had to stand their for five minutes as everyone else got to keep on cooking.

MD is making donuts for her challenge, and since she owns a donut shop in Hawaii, it makes sense that she would want to show off her skills in this challenge. And Kolby’s dad played professional football, so he really knows what stadium food entails, since as he himself states “I grew up on stadium food.”

This challenge is both fun and stressful and we are here for it!

Plating was definitely the final challenge for many of the cooks, who seemed to struggle with getting things on the plate. And watching Aaron, Joe, Gordon, and Kelsey walk around to see all of the completed dishes left us wondering who would end up actually surprising the judges.

After an intense 60 minutes, which MasterChef cooks are the judges loving? Who will be in the top three?

  • MD – Mixed Berry Cake Donut Trio with Fresh Rosemary, Fruity Cereal & Edible Flowers
  • Brynn – Lobster Roll with Tempura Battered Lobster Claw, Sweet Potato Chips and Celery Slaw
  • Jennifer – Pulled Pork BBQ Sandwich with Blackberry BBQ Sauce and Tangy Slaw

After tasting the top dishes, which cook is winning the immunity pin this time around? The best elevated stadium food dish came from Brynn!

As always, with a top three comes a bottom three. And which of our cooks find themselves in the bottom this time around?

  • Kolby – Texas Style Patty Melt with Coleslaw and French Fries
  • Grant – Pulled Pork Stuffed Tetelas with Red & Green Salsa and Queso Blanco
  • Lizzie – King Crab Hushpuppies with Roasted Red Pepper Sauce and Sweet Potato Chips

Sadly, someone has to go home. And unfortunately, the person heading home is Lizzie.
