We have reached the end of MasterChef Season 13. And that means it is time to crown the winner of the United Tastes of America season.
It has once again been a wild ride on MasterChef. Some of the home cooks that we thought we might see in the finale aren’t here. And yet, the final three is extremely strong and not nearly as surprising if you have been paying attention all season long. Jennifer, Grant, and Kennedy did everything they needed to do to make it to the end, and we commend them for the hard work that they did to prove that they all deserve to be the MasterChef winner.
Even when our cooks fumbled, they were able to recover. All three cooks proved that they deserved to be in the MasterChef finale.
So which of our finalists will walk away with the crown? First they have to get through their final challenge: A three course meal for the judges.
Who will win MasterChef Season 13?
The MasterChef finale kicked off with a look back at the journey all three cooks took to get to this episode.
But now it is time for the menus, starting with the appetizers round. The cooks have just 60 minutes to make a MasterChef worthy appetizer. And there were definitely some interesting descriptions from the cooks about what dishes they were cooking up for the judges, with Kennedy even explaining her dishes will showcase and androgynous journey.
So what did everyone make?
- Jennifer – Lobster Succotash with Sweet Corn Purée, Truffle Oil and Champagne Caviar Vinaigrette
- Grant – Raviolo Al Uovo with Morel Cream Sauce, Truffle Butter and Shaved Truffles
- Kennedy – Crispy Skinned Trout with Truffle Potatoes, Oyster Mushrooms, Tarragon Pea Purée, Saffron Tuile, Trout Roe and Smoked Oyster Aioli
There were a few criticisms from the judges, but overall everyone delivered stunning dishes and did themselves proud.
While we don’t really know which way the judges are leaning, it is on to the entree round. And once again our cooks have 60 minutes to create their dishes.
So what are the entrees being presented to the judges?
- Grant – Pork Loin Medallions with Salmoriglio Sauce, Agrodolce, Celery Root Purée and Beer-Braised Fennel & Onions
- Kennedy – Rabbit Saddle with Seared Rabbit Liver, Pickled Cherries, Beets and Juniper Berry Sauce
- Jennifer – Rack of Venison Persillade with Roasted Root Vegetables, Parsnip & Potato Purée and Bordelaise Sauce
Once again there were some amazing comments from the judges for the entree round.
Finally it is time for the final round. And that means it is time for our cooks to make their finals dish of the MasterChef competition. The cooks have just 60 minutes to make their desserts.
For their final cook of the season, the three finalists presented the judges with:
- Kennedy – Black Sesame Cake with Dark Chocolate Ganache, Blackberry Mousse and Yuzu Chocolate Snow
- Jennifer – Chocolate Raspberry Mousse Cake with Chambord Raspberry Coulis, Crystallized Raspberries and Chocolate Mirror Glaze
- Grant – Torn Stout Cake with Coffee Stout Mousse, Chocolate Pizzelle and Coffee Ice Cream
This was the first time that Kennedy really stumbled, but she still received some good comments from the judges. And Jennifer got high praise from Gordon Ramsay for her dish! Finally, Grant also got some solid comments from the judges.
It was an amazing season and for this finale, we got some amazing dishes. It really feels like the judges are going to struggle a bit to determine who will be the next MasterChef.
In the end, there can be only one winner. So who walked away with this season’s title of MasterChef? Ultimately, the winner is Grant from the Midwest!
