Burger King introducing new Ghost Pepper Chicken Fries
By D. Goodman
It seems like every fall, in particular Halloween season, in addition to pumpkin suddenly becoming the national flavor of choice, the ghost pepper has a moment in the sun. Burger King is one of the biggest offenders, seemingly adding ghost peppers to everything.
It was only days ago we here at Guilty Eats Central reported about Burger King Canada offering Ghost Pepper Chicken Nuggets for a limited time. We lamented the fact that they weren’t coming to the States and that, when combined with the limited test of the Angry Whopper, The King must think we don’t like heat.
Looks like we were wrong. Because Burger King has revealed that they are doubling down on the ghost peppers for the Halloween season. And Royal Perks members inadvertently got a sneak peak at the offerings.
Burger King Ghost Pepper Chicken Fries will be available starting October 12.
It was back in August when Burger King allowed Royal Perks member to choose between adding a new menu item, Ghost Pepper Chicken Fries or bring back the popular Ghost Pepper Whopper. At the time they said that they planned to reveal the winner at a later date.
Well, that date has arrived and it would seem that no matter how you voted, you’re a winner. Because Burger King is adding both items to their menu for a limited time starting October 12.
Ghost Pepper Chicken Fries include premium chicken white meat coated in a seasoned breading that includes a healthy dose of ghost pepper spice and then fried to perfection. They went through a test run a few years ago and were a big hit.
The Ghost Pepper Whopper was first introduced last year to much celebration. It includes a flame-grilled beef patty topped with spicy queso, jalapenos, bacon, and ghost pepper cheese all on a orange and black sesame seed bun.
Both items will be available nationwide for a limited time and offer a perfect way to get into the Halloween spirit. You know, as long as you don’t mind your mouth being set on fire.
