It was around this time last year when we here at Guilty Eats reported that McDonald’s was bringing back a nostalgic and iconic item that would put a smile on just about anyone’s face. Something that immediately made you think of the Halloween season and childhood memories.

That item was the Halloween Happy Meal Bucket. For most of the 1980s and 1990s, they were as much a part of the holiday as candy and Jack O’ Lanterns. Made of plastic, they were perfect for trick or treating once you finished your Happy Meal.

The buckets disappeared in the 2000s, much to many a McDonald’s fan’s chagrin. However, last year the Golden Arches brought back the idea for another go around. And to say they were a hit would be like saying nobody wants fries with your Big Mac.

McDonald’s Halloween Happy Meal Buckets return on October 17 nationwide.

The resurrected Halloween Happy Meal Buckets were such a hit that not only are they bringing them back for the 2023 Halloween season but they are actually expanding the line to four brand new options for your Happy Meal.

They also have a brand new name. McDonald’s is now called these Boo Buckets, which could be the most adorable and accurate name I’ve ever seen a fast food chain come up with.

The Boo Buckets come in four different colors and designs. A green Frankenstein, an orange Jack O’ Lantern, a white Ghost and a purple Dracula. They include a carrying strap and even lids so your little gremlins won’t lose any candy while trick or treating.

Of course, if you’re an adult and want a Boo Bucket of your very own, who are we to judge? Regardless, you can get them at McDonald’s nationwide starting October 17 while supples last.
