It’s time for the first dinner service of Hell’s Kitchen Season 22 and things get a “Tad Overwhelming”
It’s time for the first dinner service in Hell’s Kitchen for the new batch of recruits on The American Dream season. The episode kicks off with the chefs learning that they will have to not only work with live scallops, but they will have to dig them out of a bin of assorted, live seafood.
Chef Gordon Ramsay shows the chefs how to shuck the scallops and get them cleaned up for service. This is a challenge that will actually earn one chef a Punishment Pass!
Once the chefs shuck and clean the scallops, they must make a next level dish that will earn them that all important pass. Fans of Hell’s Kitchen know how important that Punishment Pass can be, and everyone wants a chance at it.
Both teams have to choose the top three dishes to present to Chef Ramsay, and that leads to some drama on the red side as one chef was determined to get her dish in front of Gordon Ramsay. In the end they are able to narrow it down to three, and the Red Team chef who wins the Punishment Pass is Melissa!
On the blue team, they seem to understand that they want to present the best dishes to the chef, which they do. So which chef ends up earning themselves the Punishment Pass? The winner on the Blue Team is Johnathan.
Hell’s Kitchen is open for service as the kitchen gets ready for the first dinner service of the season
Now that the Punishment Pass Challenge is over, it’s time to get down to business. It’s time for the dinner service.
As the doors open we learn that the red kitchen will be serving Martina McBride at the chef’s table, while the blue kitchen will be feeding Oscar De La Hoya at theirs.
Right away, the blue team is off to a rough start as Jason sends up raw lobster. It’s the worst way to start a new season of Hell’s Kitchen. Hopefully the red team can get it right and while they start strong, they do get a talking to after they start celebrating because they sent up a solid dish.
The fish station seems to get their act together on the blue team, and both teams seem to be on track to get the appetizer course finished strong. Unfortunately, as they move into the entree round, the red team is now the ones struggling to get things up to the pass.
Honestly, this is Hell’s Kitchen and we expect nothing less than drama in the kitchen. And once again, as we see season after season, things seem to fall apart in both kitchens. In fact, the blue team is doing so badly that they end up getting kicked out of the kitchen completely. And they have to nominate two people to go up for elimination.
However, the red team also gets kicked out of the kitchen and they also have to nominate two people to go up for elimination.
The blue team nominates Tad and Brad.
The red team nominates Atoye and Sandra.
After the chefs tell Chef Ramsay why he belongs in Hell’s Kitchen, who ends up going home? The person leaving is Tad.
