Getting to report Raising Cane’s team-up with Post Malone and the Dallas Cowboys was one thing. Getting to experience it was another.
Thankfully, I was graciously invited to attend the grand opening of the new Raising Cane’s themed around Post Malone and the Dallas Cowboys. Given that Post Malone is a long-time Cowboys fan, this seems inevitable.
With that being said, I’d like to thank the Raising Cane’s team for setting this up and making me feel welcome. For this being my first press trip and it being such a cool event, I was incredibly impressed with everything. Considering it was also my first trip to Dallas, Texas, it was even cooler.
Of course, I have a lot of thoughts on the idea, the opening, the food, and even, seeing Post Malone in the flesh so I won’t waste time and share my experience.
Raising Cane’s hit the jackpot with its new Post Malone x Dallas Cowboys collab.
Let me start off by saying that I’ve never been to an event quite like this. When you think of restaurant openings, you don’t think of having a DJ there and Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders. When three powerhouses combine, that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
When I first arrived for media check-in, I was directed to either head to a media area in the crowd or on the media platform. Since I’m on the shorter side, it was the platform for me. From the platform, I could see just about everything especially a look at the big Dallas Cowboys star which features the drive-thru.
In addition, I could also see the sheer amount of people who showed up and it was in the hundreds. There were so many people there in Post Malone gear, Dallas Cowboys jerseys, or just something showing love to any of the three. It was honestly pretty freaking amazing and unbelievable.
Once Post Malone popped out, the crowd went wild, and rightfully so. He’s a Dallas darling and it’s clear the city loves him almost as much as the Cowboys. On the whole, I think this idea was genius and honestly, I can see this restaurant being busy more times than not. Aside from PM, the Dallas Cowboys being involved is enough to get people excited yet Posty adds another level.
As for the actual opening and ribbon-cutting, Todd Graves spoke and so did Post Malone before cutting the ribbon. From there, the media was ushered into the restaurant to talk to Graves. From the moment he entered, it felt like having a conversation with an old friend. He was so personable and took time for everything, no matter how many questions they had.
Even though I was a little nervous and couldn’t get myself to ask a question, I should have because he talked about his friendship with Austin (Post Malone,) his plans for expanding throughout the country, even globally, and the potential to open other themed restaurants. It’s clear that Todd and Austin are great friends and they have nothing but good things to say about each other.
Speaking of Post Malone, I’ve never been around a celebrity who was so humble and grateful. For the majority of the event, he was outside, talking to fans and making sure they felt appreciated. Once he came in with the media, he was happy to talk and take pictures. Post seemed so sweet and genuine that I can only hope I get a chance to talk to him in the future.
The restaurant is honestly one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. The interior was truly a love letter to Post Malone and the Dallas Cowboys. There was even a vending machine featuring merch which was so awesome. You truly have to see the restaurant in person to appreciate it as the pics just don’t do it justice.
Of course, since Raising Cane’s invited me, I was excited to try out the fast-food chain for the first time. I got a box combo that featured four tenders, fries, coleslaw, Texas toast, and Cane’s sauce with a drink. My drink came in a reusable cup featuring Post Malone and the Dallas Cowboys which I was obsessed with immediately.
As for the food, I couldn’t stop eating it. I ended up finishing up things at the opening and then going straight to the airport. The tenders were fresh and crispy and I even added some to the toast with fries and Cane’s sauce. It was an elite combination, to say the least.
Ultimately, this was such a fun experience that I can only hope I get to do something like this again in the future. Considering that I’m now a Raising Cane’s fan, I’m sure I’ll be covering more with the brand and listening to Post Malone at the same time.
I feel like I can’t truly put into words how amazing this entire thing was but if you can, head to this Raising Cane’s for an experience unlike any other. Plus the restaurant featured these cool reusable cups and honestly, it made the experience all the more memorable. Overall, I enjoyed the entire trip and I can’t wait to see what Post Malone and Todd Graves do next.
