One thing you can say about Taco Bell is that they are always pushing the envelope with ideas about what they can add to their menu. Maybe that’s because usually as fast as they add them, they decide to take them away.

Taco Bell has become legendary among foodies over the last few years for adding and subtracting menu items for no apparent reason. Just look at Nacho Fries. One minute they’re available and the next, they’re gone.

However, one nice side effect of that is the folks at The Bell are seemingly always testing and trying out new items. It’s actually something Taco Bell diehards enjoy about the chain. You never quite know what you’ll discover on your next trip.

And now word has dropped that Taco Bell is testing a new item at select locations in Indianapolis, Indiana. Say hello to the new Cheesy Street Chalupa.

The Cheesy Street Chalupa will be available at Taco Bell for a limited time.

The Cheesy Street Chalupa has all the earmarks of a new item that could be massively popular if it goes nationwide. It includes a flaky chalupa shell that has been stuffed with a combination of mozzarella and pepper jack cheeses and then filled with steak or chicken, a jalapeno sauce and onions.

Now, considering how good just a regular old chalupa is, the thought of having one that has been jammed full of cheese sounds like a winner no matter what you fill it with.

As mentioned, the Cheesy Street Chalupa is only available at Taco Bell locations in Indianapolis at this time. But given how good this sounds, you could be forgiven is you assume it will be available nationwide sooner rather than later.
