DiGiorno announces the arrival of the Thanksgiving Pizza
By D. Goodman
First introduced in 1995, DiGiorno pretty much single handedly revolutionized the frozen pizza business. The idea of a pizza that came from the frozen section of the supermarket that didn’t taste and look like cardboard was a revolutionary idea back then.
But that was exactly what DiGiorno accomplished with their rising crust pizza. While it still couldn’t compare to a fresh pizza from the corner pizzeria, it was a huge step in the right direction. A pizza you could make at home with a soft crust was an idea whose time had come.
And now DiGiorno is attempting something else that might be considered a revolutionary idea if it wasn’t so stunningly simple. I mean, why didn’t someone think to take Thanksgiving dinner, one of the best meals of the year, and put it into pizza form?
Say hello to the DiGiorno Thanksgiving Pizza.
The DiGiorno Thanksgiving Pizza will only be available while supplies last.
That’s correct Foodie Nation. DiGiorno has taken all the best parts of the biggest food holiday on the calendar and put them all on a pizza that you can make at home.
The Thanksgiving Pizza includes all the fixings you would expect plus some of the toppings that make pizza awesome. It features turkey, gravy sauce, diced sweet potatoes, cranberries and green beans as well as mozzarella and cheddar cheese as well as crispy onions. All that comes on a think Detroit style crust.
How did someone not think to do this sooner?
Now, if you want to try a Thanksgiving Pizza or maybe make it your centerpiece on the actual holiday you need to act fast. DiGiorno has already sold out of the first batch but more are on the way.
The DiGiorno Thanksgiving Pizza is now available at supermarkets nationwide as well as online. But like I said, if you want one, get it while you can because once they’re gone or the calendar turns to December, they’re gone.
