When it comes to challenges on Hell’s Kitchen, we love when they take the chefs out of the kitchen. And that’s what we get on “Fusion Confusion.”

The reward challenge took the chefs to a soccer field where they will kick soccer balls in order to hit targets with cuisines listed on them. Whichever two cuisines they hit, those are the ones they will have to fuse together with their dishes.

Some of the fusions include Japanese and French, Greek and Italian, Spanish and Mexican, and even Spanish and French. And whichever chef cooks the best dish on the winning team will also get their own amazing prize that includes a trip to Vegas and tickets to a soccer game. There is a lot on the line for these teams and chefs, because sometimes a prize is all you get when it comes to competing on Hell’s Kitchen.

For some of the chefs, it is clear that this really was a challenge. And we get it, sometimes being under the gun can really throw you off your cooking game.

Gordon Ramsay was joined by Tony Messina, a well-known fusion chef, for the judging of these fusion dishes. And some dishes definitely did better than others. But which team ended up winning? Ultimately, it was the blue team that won (they all got Keurig machines on top of their reward) and the best chef, who won a special prize, was Johnathan.

The red team on the other hand was back in Hell’s Kitchen doing the prep work for the Carbonara dish on the dinner service menu. This meant the ladies were shucking peas, chopping pancetta, and grating parmesan cheese.

While we all know that the dinner service is where the chefs really need to win, the reward/team challenges are also all about morale, so it makes sense that winning would be important for the chefs.

As dinner service gets underway, the red team starts with a fire in the kitchen and struggles on the fish station. And while the blue team had a bit of an issue with their first scallops, they were able to quickly pull it together.

Both teams were able to finish dinner service and for the most part, they did a good job making it happen with consistency. In the end, Brad ends up going out the front door because of a health issue that made him tell Chef Ramsay that while he wasn’t giving up, his body was.

However, that didn’t stop Gordon Ramsay from asking both teams to nominate two chefs each that they think are the weakest members. So who did the teams nominate?

The red team nominated Raneisha and Sandra. On the blue team, they nominated Jason and Jermaine, although Jermaine spoke up and said he thought they agreed on Devon being the second nominee. But even Jason said that it was him and Jermaine chosen as the two nominees.

In the end, Raneisha was sent home from the red team as Chef Ramsay did not believe that she had what it took to be his head chef.
