Everyone has a favorite fast-food restaurant and for me, it’s always been Taco Bell. I don’t see that changing anytime soon, either.

Maybe it’s due to the amount of options you have or just the general vibe of the place but I just love it. As we all know, it’s an extremely Americanized version of Mexican food yet it’s still tasty.

While Taco Bell has long been one of the more affordable options, things are getting pricier and pricier. Due to that, I wanted to look back on some of the fast-food chain’s popular items from the past and give them some love.

Who knows? Maybe Taco Bell’s team will see this and decide to finally bring some of them back. If not, this is all in good fun as I do love Taco Bell and I’ve been hoping some of these were going to come back eventually.

These Taco Bell items need to make a return to the menu eventually.

1. Shredded Chicken

If there’s one Taco Bell item I’ve been begging them to bring back, it’s shredded chicken. I don’t know what it is about shredded chicken but it’s delicious. It felt like the perfect compliment to a lot of Taco Bell items because you could frankly add it to anything or have it as the center of a meal.

Sadly, the brand decided to discontinue it during the big menu purge of 2020 and since then, I’ve been missing it. It’s been 3 years and it’s still not back but there have been a few items that are similar. The rolled chicken tacos returned recently and then, we got the Grilled Cheese Dipping Taco which was shredded beef. Either way, I’m hoping Taco Bell decides to bring shredded chicken back eventually.

2. Shredded Chicken Mini Quesadillas

Moving onto the next item, this one goes hand-in-hand with the first one and that’s the Shredded Chicken Mini Quesdillas. When I was in college, I absolutely adored these things for multiple reasons. First, these were on Taco Bell’s value menu so they were only a dollar which was a steal.

It was essentially a tortilla filled with chicken, cheese, and the beloved Chipotle sauce. It all came wrapped in a piece of foil so it was toasty and delicious. If the chain wouldn’t have gotten rid of the shredded chicken, we could still enjoy this. I’m still incredibly salty about this so I hope Taco Bell does eventually bring it back in some form.
