When it comes to holiday gatherings, we are all about finding ways to shake things up and keep them fresh. So it makes sense that we might turn to one of our favorite Queer Eye members to get some inspiration. In this case, that would be Bobby Berk!
In honor of the 20th anniversary of the iconic Pumpkin Spice Latte at Starbucks, Berk partnered with the brand’s Coffee at Home to help people looking to host their very own Pumpkin Spice Latte inspired gatherings. And while PSL season may be over, that doesn’t mean we have to let the flavor go just yet. (In fact, we think November is still the perfect time to enjoy this classic flavor profile.)
Even though the PSL may be off the menu, that doesn’t mean we can’t still take some inspiration from Bobby Berk. And if we happen to make our own pumpkin spice magic happen, who can blame us. (We are big fans of Starbucks Coffee at Home, and we also love the fact that there are still ways to enjoy this seasonal flavor even with the PSL being out of stock.)
Here’s how Bobby Berk makes any gathering special and even adds Pumpkin Spice to the party
Guilty Eats: What made you want to work with Starbucks Coffee at Home on this collaboration?
Bobby Berk: “I’m a huge Starbucks fan. I keep my kitchen stocked with their at-home coffees, so I was thrilled to partner this fall – especially since it’s Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte’s 20th
birthday! Nothing says fall quite like the taste and smell of Starbucks Pumpkin Spice, and
it’s been so fun to host a cozy and tasty at-home celebration with their limited-time
coffees and creamers available in grocery stores.”
GE: For Pumpkin Spice fans, how do you make a party out of the iconic drink?
BB: “I’ve loved seeing people host at-home coffee shop parties on TikTok to connect with
friends and family, so I was excited to join in on the trend myself in honor of Starbucks
Pumpkin Spice Latte’s 20th birthday. I hosted a #CoffeeParty for my work team, and I
highly recommend recreating it in your home or office! Some easy tips on how people
can celebrate and throw their own ultimate Pumpkin Spice-themed At-Home Coffee
Shop Party include:
- Enhance your décor with quick, easy seasonal touches, like adding earthy throw
pillows, lighting Pumpkin Spice-flavored candles, and decorating your home
with pumpkins and squash – you can pick these up from the grocery store! - Curate and personalize your coffee shop set-up with limited-time Starbucks
Pumpkin Spice Products that you can find at your local grocery store – I love
stocking up on the Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Ground Coffee and the Non-Dairy
Creamer. They also come in K-Cup® pods, Cold Brew, and a Dairy Creamer. You
can also garnish beverages with cinnamon and whole spices and make your own
Pumpkin Spice cold foam from scratch. - Make simple Pumpkin Spice-inspired party favors to surprise and delight
your guests.”
GE: What’s your go-to Starbucks drink? And what’s your at home drink of choice?
BB: “It doesn’t matter if it is freezing cold, I’m an iced coffee drinker year-round. During fall,
my go-to is always Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Cold Brew with a splash of the Pumpkin
Spice Non-Dairy Creamer. Since Starbucks Pumpkin Spice is only on shelves for a limited
time, I like to stock up so I can enjoy it through late fall and into the holidays.”
GE: What’s your favorite way to bring fall into the home and kitchen?
BB: “One of my favorite parts of autumn is seasonal décor and making my home a cozy
haven. I recommend incorporating some of the décor items listed above and also
brewing Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Ground Coffee or K-Cups with their Pumpkin Spice
Creamer for a holistic fall feel.”
GE: Any tips for adding small Fall touches to a kitchen or dining room to make it feel fresh and
fun?
BB: “In addition to the items listed above, I like to swap in Fall decor items and autumnal
tones. You can add some rust-colored placemats to a dining table, bring in fall-themed
mugs to your coffee station, or simply add some taper candles for warmth and a cozy
feel.”
GE: Can you tell us more about your debut book?
BB: “My book, Right at Home, is about teaching everyone that the way your home looks and
feels really matters, and can have a major impact on your mood and emotional well-
being. It will teach you how to follow your happiness to find your style, optimize the
function of every room, and organize your space – all while learning how good design is
good for the mind.”
GE: Finally, we are Guilty Eats and we want to know what your guilty eat is…
BB: “My guilty eat is a big stack of pancakes. I normally don’t eat breakfast, but if I do, I go for
something classic, with butter and maple syrup. And I pair them with Starbucks Pumpkin
Spice Cold Brew Coffee and Creamer, of course!”
When it comes to finding ways to incorporate those seasonal favorites, it is clear that Bobby Berk has it figured out. And we love that for us!
If you love PSL season as much as we do, then you may want to explore some ways to keep it going even now that Starbucks has moved on to Peppermint Mochas and Caramel Brulee Lattes.
