So you just finished your Thanksgiving dinner and are looking around to see what’s for dessert. You see all sorts of pies and cookies, but none of them are really hitting the spot. You quickly realize what you could really go for is a Blizzard from Dairy Queen.

But, you think to yourself, is Dairy Queen even open on Thanksgiving? Would anyone be there to make my large Oreo Blizzard with extra Oreo pieces?

Sadly for you, the answer is no because Dairy Queen is not open on Thanksgiving Day. Turkey Day is one of the few holidays that the ice cream specialists close their doors so their workers can enjoy the day with their families.

Dairy Queen will be open for regular business hours once again on Black Friday.

However, while you may not be able to get your Blizzard fix on Thanksgiving Day, you won’t have to wait very long to scratch that itch once again.

Dairy Queen will reopen for regular hours on Black Friday. That means while you’re out Christmas shopping you can stop and get a Blizzard to keep you going while looking in store after store for the perfect gift for your Aunt Marge.

Of course, you can always go to Dairy Queen before Thanksgiving and pick up a Blizzard or two and throw them in your freezer. Of course, we all know it’s not really the same as getting one fresh.

It’s also important to note that some Dairy Queen locations close for the winter months and won’t reopen until spring. So keep that in mind as you look for a place to get your soft serve ice cream on while shopping for gifts.
