Kitchen Nightmares heads to South Brooklyn Foundry to help them figure out how to save their restaurant from financial ruin.

As Gordon Ramsay watch into the restaurant, it’s clear that this is a very small dining area and it’s something that he points out immediately. Obviously, it’s hard to change the size of the location, but that’s not the only problem that they have.

In what is perhaps a Kitchen Nightmares first, we learned that this restaurant actually offers Botox. And yes, Chef Ramsay does ask them if he needs it.

Right away, it’s clear that things are not running smoothly in here as Gordon Ramsay has to wait 20 minutes just to receive an appetizer. And with how small this place is, it shouldn’t take this long to feed people at lunch. And things came out cold to start.

However, the thing that the restaurant is known for is their burgers, and considering it’s almost $30 for a burger, they better be a next level experience. But it doesn’t seem like that’s what happens as Chef Ramsay sends his back with disappointment.

This restaurant is truly a mess when it comes to the partners. One person, Kelly, has all of the debt and it’s clear that the two owners do not communicate with each other. They don’t agree on what’s happening in their restaurant and how things are running.

Financially, Kelly is drowning. And it is clear that there is a lot happening at South Brooklyn Foundry. Now the question is can Gordon Ramsay save the day with the help of Kitchen Nightmares.

Now Chef Ramsay has to watch a dinner service and see exactly what’s wrong with this restaurant and try and figure out how to change things for the better. Pretty quickly we see that there are issues in the kitchen and one thing is that the Ray the chef, who is also an owner, is ignoring Kelly.

Not only has the chef overcooked burgers, he also undercooked burgers. And when Chef Ramsay calls him out on it, he basically ignores everything that he’s told and has an attitude.

After the dinner service, Gordon Ramsay pulls Kelly and Ray together for a discussion about how the restaurant is failing. And it gets to a point where Kelly asks Ray if he would walk away from the business if she takes the debt and he takes his name off the restaurant. Because it is all her debt and after some less than constructive conversation, he says he’ll walk away and walks out of the restaurant.

After Ray left, the rest of the staff was asked if they wanted to stay, and the sous chef quit because he wanted no part of what was happening. However, the rest of the staff chose to stay with Kelly and help her make the restaurant a success.

Overnight, Kitchen Nightmares, comes to refresh the restaurant and give it a fresh start. Not only does Chef Ramsay call in some of his own chefs to help her for a few weeks, but he also connects her with a business consultant to help her make the restaurant a success on her own.

With a new menu and a revamped dining room, South Brooklyn Foundry is getting a new lease on life. And with Gordon Ramsay‘s chefs in the kitchen for their relaunch, we only expect success. Now it’s just about what happens down the line. But first, the front of house does need to get more familiar with their new system because the back of house knows exactly what they’re doing and is making it happen.

It was a bit of a bumpy start, but the front of house still needs to figure out how they run. According to the look ahead at two months later, Chef Ray actually came back and said he was committed to making things work.
