7UP Shirley Temple is nostalgia in a can (or the bottle)

When you think of a Shirley Temple, what comes to mind? In a lot of ways, it is all about nostalgia, as this is a drink that so many of us grew up with. It was the drink we chose when we wanted to feel grown up while out at a restaurant. And for years it has simply been the perfect sip for those of us who aren't looking for a cocktail.

So it likely comes as no surprise that we were pretty excited by the news that 7UP would be releasing their own version of a Shirley Temple. After all, being able to sip on a classic at home without having to do any work is always a win.

The new 7UP Shirley Temple comes in both regular and a zero sugar option, and can be purchased in cans or bottles. And much like the original mocktail, their version of a Shirley Temple is a mix of pomegranate and cherry flavors.

Of course, the real question is whether the 7UP Shirley Temple is any good.

We had the chance to give the new 7UP Shirley Temple a try early, and we have to say that this was definitely a surprise. It really was nostalgia in a can. And both the zero sugar and regular option were quite tasty (and we don't usually go for zero sugar).

With every sip of the 7UP Shirley Temple, you really do get notes of the citrus base that makes classic 7UP a favorite. But the pomegranate and cherry definitely take over this one, but in a way that is not overpowering or overly sweet. It really is the perfect blend of flavors and it is a perfect, chilled drink to satisfy your thirst.

This is honestly like making your own Shirley Temple at home, but without all the work. And at the same time, it also works perfectly for making a Dirty Shirley at home as well. Basically, if you love both a classic Shirley Temple or an alcoholic version of this drink, the 7UP Shirley Temple makes it easy to enjoy it all.

Fans of 7UP and Shirley Temples will be able to get their hands on this classic flavor starting on October 15. This will only be available for a limited time, with 7UP saying this is only going to be around through December 31.

So if you fall in love with this one, we definitely recommend snagging them while you can. And we think this might just be the perfect sip of the season, so why not stock up with a case or two.
