Game day is Sunday, February 9 and there’s not a lot of time to snag all of those watch party goodies. But one thing that you can grab for the Super Bowl and any day is Avocados from Mexico. Honestly, avocados are one of my favorite snacks. I try to have at least an avocado every week. So there was no doubt that as I was prepping for Puppy Bowl, I mean Super Bowl Sunday, that I need to snag a bag of avocados from the store.
Whether you’re making guacamole from scratch, eating them on toast or making Rob Gronkowski‘s version of guacamole, there are a lot of options for how to enjoy an avocado right now. Speaking of Gronk, it turns out that he and Avocados from Mexico decided to team up for the ultimate collaboration. And as we mentioned, it seems that Gronk has a very unique way of making guacamole. But what makes it so special? I’m so glad you asked...
According to the press email we received, Gronkamole is essentially a guacamole recipe featuring blue cheese and buffalo chicken. It's the kind of recipe we weren't expecting, but had to try for ourselves. And thanks to Avocados from Mexico, we had the chance to create this unique recipe after they sent us some avocados to whip up this guac recipe.
I have to say that Gronk is on to something with this unique blend of flavors. I would never have thought to add blue cheese to guacamole, let alone a buffalo sauce. Even the chicken was a pleasant surprise.
Honestly, this could become our favorite way to whip up a party dip. And we love that there is so much flavor in this mix. Would we have ever done this without inspiration from Rob Gronkowski? Probably not as we are definitely guacamole purists. But in this case, adding these flavors was such a fun and tasty surprise that we might need to get on the guacline for more inspiration. (Check it out for yourself if you are looking some fun.)
You can never go wrong with avocados in the mix. And thanks to this partnership we have a new way to enjoy Avocados from Mexico.
