If there's one food to enjoy during fall, it's pasta. The cooler weather gives us the perfect excuse to boil some Barilla pasta, add some of its new sauces, and enjoy it in the comfort of our home. Doesn't that just paint the coziest picture to you?
For Guilty Eaters like us, I'm sure it sounds absolutely heavenly. The other thing that's just as good is Barilla's newest addition. While Barilla is known for making pasta, did you know that the brand also makes sauces as well?
No matter if you were aware or not, Barilla recently added three new flavors to its already expansive lineup which are all Pestos. While most of us would think to add this to pasta, the possibilities are truly endless as pesto is such a versatile ingredient and can be used for other dishes as well.
The press release also shared some useful info which is that: "Barilla Pesto is ready to enjoy, with no need to heat or cook, to add an indulgent twist to any meal." Basically, you can enjoy these without having to do much prep work at all which is sometimes the best quality of all.
What are the new flavors of Barilla Pesto sauces?
Starting off, there is the Creamy Tomato Pesto. This one is described as: ": A smooth blend of sun-ripened tomatoes, balsamic vinegar and Grana Padano and Pecorino Romano cheeses, delivering an irresistible taste of Italy that enriches both pasta and breads." The description even gives you some other ideas as you could add this to some bread along with some cheese and a little pepperoni to make your very own pizza toast.
Then there is the Vegan Pesto which honestly looks pretty similar to regular Pesto but is made with no cheese and features 100% Italian basil. This would be a great substitute if you're vegan or are cooking for someone who is vegan or has dietary restrictions. Last but not least is the Sweet & Spicy Pepper which is "A velvety mixture of freshly grated Italian cheeses, red peppers and chili peppers produces a sweet, mild heat that will leave your tastebuds wanting more." Given how popular Swicy is right now, this shouldn't come as any surprise.
The only thing you have to know is that these flavors are released exclusively to Kroger. If you're near a Kroger, I'd be on the lookout as they should be hitting shelves soon if not already. Either way, these are sure to be on many foodies' must-try lists this fall so the release was too good not to share.
