If your childhood was anything like mine, you probably enjoyed a Capri Sun at some point. The drink, a perfect companion to the sandwich your mom packed in your lunchbox, was a refreshing way to wash down your food.
You probably also remember the commercials urging you to "respect the pouch" as you tuned in to Nickelodeon or Cartoon Network. But now, Capri Sun is switching things up by introducing bottles to its lineup.
Capri Sun Bottles are arriving now
For the first time in 20 years, the popular kids' drink will be available in a resealable bottle. The 12-ounce bottles — equivalent to two pouches — will come in Capri Sun's most iconic flavors: Fruit Punch, Pacific Cooler, and Strawberry Kiwi.
"Capri Sun has always been a childhood favorite," said Kristina Hannant, Director of Marketing at Capri Sun in a press release. "The launch of Capri Sun Bottles underscores our commitment to innovation by introducing a new format that meets the evolving needs of today's families on the go."
Those worried this marks the end of the pouch era — fear not. The new bottles are simply an alternative, giving longtime fans another way to enjoy the drink while making Capri Sun more accessible at convenience stores, where it was rarely found.
So, you can still respect the pouch — but now, you also have a bottled option, which will start appearing at grocery and convenience stores. Plus, one advantage? No more struggling to get the straw into the pouch.
I was lucky to be among the first to try the new bottle, courtesy of Capri Sun, and it was just as refreshing as I remembered from childhood. The only difference? I got more to drink — and had to get used to holding a bottle instead of a pouch.
If you're looking for the new Capri Sun Bottles, they’re available at grocery and convenience stores now. And remember, we must now respect both the pouch and the bottle.
