Chipotle is the latest company to hop on the honey trend
Starting today for Chipotle Rewards members — and tomorrow for everyone else in the U.S., Canada, U.K., France, or Germany — the limited-time Chipotle Honey Chicken is available to order. Following a trend in which more and more restaurants are incorporating honey and hot honey, the chicken is seasoned with savory spices, marinated in seared, smoked chipotle peppers, and finished with a touch of pure wildflower honey.
The move to add this item to the menu comes after Chipotle tested it in the Nashville and Sacramento markets, where it received rave reviews. In fact, it was the best-selling limited-time item when it was available in those areas.
Luckily for me, I was living in the Nashville area when it was being tested, and this is by far one of the better options the fast-casual spot has introduced. The Chipotle Honey Chicken packs a lot of flavor and fits perfectly with what I like to call the Trey Bowl, which features fajita veggies, corn, white rice, and, of course, the protein.
