Did you know that Dolly Parton has her own line of frozen meals? As someone who sometimes struggles to figure out what to eat, at any point during the day, it can be nice to stock the freezer with a few meals that you might enjoy. And we were very excited to get the opportunity to try a few of these meals.
I have to say that there are some pros and cons to these meals. While they were packed with flavor, as with many frozen meals, I highly recommend checking out the nutrition labels, as there is quite a bit of sodium in a few of these meals.
However, I must also point out that there is a lot of protein in these meals as well. So I have to say there are some trade-offs when you look at the nutrition content.
We take a look at the Dolly Parton frozen meals
Another thing to note is the fact that at least in the case of the country fried steak meal, I wish the country fried steak had not been over the mashed potatoes. It was very hard to stir the mashed potatoes after the first four minutes in the microwave as the instructions recommended. Instead, I wish that the country fried steak had maybe been off to the side or in a separate compartment.
But all things considered, these are truly the only complaints that I have. And it might seem like I’m being picky, talking about the mashed potatoes and country fried steak in the same compartment.
Overall, I found all four of the frozen meals that I tried to be quite delicious. And if you are a fan of pot roast, the Dolly Parton frozen pot roast meal is a must try. It was so full of flavor and if you happen to make biscuits to go with it, you will have the perfect meal.
I have to admit that my favorite meal of the four might have been the shrimp and grits. That being said, I am a big fan of shrimp and grits to begin with, so I had a feeling I was going to love that.
If you were looking to add a few frozen meals to your freezer for those days, when you need a last-minute meal choice, the Dolly Parton meals are a great way to go. They are full of flavor, there’s a nice variety of comfort foods, and you definitely won’t feel bored with these meals.
This might sound terrible, but I love having a few frozen meals in my freezer to make life easier throughout the week. And these will definitely be something I pick up in the future. Plus, I really hope we get more variety in the future as well.
