Available for a limited time, Mango Habanero Chicken blends sweet and spicy flavors to celebrate the fast-food chain’s 50th anniversary. The sauce, described as the perfect balance of mango purée sweetness and habanero pepper heat, was crafted after months of culinary development.
"After months of culinary development in our test kitchen, we are pleased to introduce this new vibrant Mango Habanero Sauce which perfectly balances the sweetness of mango puree with the fiery kick of habanero peppers," said Chef Rene Pisciotti, El Pollo Loco's Head of Culinary innovation, in a press release.
Customers can try the new flavor through Mango Habanero Chicken and Family Meals or order it à la carte. Prices start at $9.19 for a two-piece Individual Chicken Meal, which includes two sides, and $25.79 for an eight-piece Individual Family Chicken Meal, with two large sides. The sauce is also available for purchase separately for an additional charge.
I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to try this chicken smothered in the new sauce. El Pollo Loco’s fire-grilled chicken already has great flavor, and adding this "swicy" sauce sounds like a match made in heaven.
