If you're looking to reduce carbs in your diet, giving up bagels can be a real challenge. There's nothing quite like that first bite of an everything bagel, slathered with a heavy layer of cream cheese on top. However, with the new launch of Hero Bread's 5g Net Carb Everything Bagels, the breakup doesn't have to be quite as hard. These new, chewy, and satisfying bagels serve the full bagel shop experience without all the heavy carbs.

Having tried and loved other Hero Bread products in the past, I was particularly excited to try these new bagels. The new Everything Bagel variety joins Hero Bread's other Classic Plain Bagels in their product line-up. With 5 grams of carbs, 20 grams of fiber, and 17 grams of protein, these bagels have far more nutrition than your average bagel. But did they taste as good?

Trying the Everything Bagels

When trying a low-carb or "better for you" product, there's always a low expectation. Realistically, you can't expect it to taste like the real thing. Yet, these Everything Bagels taste a lot better than I thought they would. They toasted well and had a hearty bite that you look for when you're having a bagel. I enjoyed the guilt-free version more than I anticipated. You can taste the toasted onion and garlic on the bagel, giving it a bit more flavor than your average original bagel. Crafted in real bakeries with natural ingredients, I think these bagels are a smart choice for a better-for-you bagel.

While Hero Bread's Everything Bagels may not taste as good as the real thing, they're pretty good for a bagel with only 5 grams of net carbs. Each bagel contains only 140 calories and is made with a nutrient-rich blend of fava bean flour and other plant-based ingredients. Personally, I still enjoy the flavor of Hero Bread's Cheddar biscuits and croissants more than the bagels. However, I'd still recommend these to anyone who has a craving for an Everything Bagel but is trying to adhere to a better diet. It's a bagel you don't have to feel guilty about.
