Is Dairy Queen open on Thanksgiving? Here's what you need to know
Dairy Queen is everyone's favorite soft-serve ice cream shop, but unfortunately, you won't be able to enjoy their deliciousness on Thanksgiving in 2024. They will be closed on Turkey Day this year. If you want ice cream on November 28 then you will have to get your ice cream fix elsewhere. They are normally open from 3:30 to 9:30 p.m., but that can differ from location to location.
This also means that if you haven't already gotten your Dairy Queen Thanksgiving ice cream cake, you will have to be quick and get one before they close for business on Thursday, Nov 28. What are these cakes? Perfect question!
Dairy Queen is closed on Thanksgiving, but you may still want to try and get one of their Turkey Cakes
The first cake says "Give Thanks" on it with a huge pumpkin. The next says "Happy Thanksgiving" with a turkey on it, and the third says "Gobble til you Wobble." These are all sheet-style cakes but made of ice cream instead of cake, and the flavors are always vanilla and chocolate soft serve. You will have to ask if you can get another flavor. They are available in-store and online.
While Dairy Queen is closed on Thanksgiving, they will be open the next day for Black Friday. This means you can get as much ice cream as you want while you're out shopping for deals. And speaking of deals...Dairy Queen will have all their treats and cakes 50% off on Friday, Nov 29. That is an insanely good deal. Fifty percent off any Blizzard! Sound the alarms!
Dairy Queen not open on Thanksgiving 2024, but you can head in for Black Friday
What's your usual treat that you normally get at Dairy Queen? I am a strawberry milkshake girl, but I also can't say no to soft-serve ice cream, so this deal is like a fever dream for me. I also wouldn't say no to one of their cakes. A slice of ice cream? Yes, please!
You can also check out their new-ish fall Blizzard menu with four delicious Blizzards. This includes the Caramel Java Chip with soft-serve, caramel, and choco espresso crunch, French Silk Pie with choco chunks, pie pieces, and coco fudge, Salted Caramel Truffle with salted caramel truffles, butter toffee, choco chunks, and cocoa fudge, and the Royal NY Cheesecake. This includes cheesecake, graham pieces, and strawberry topping at the center. Is anyone else drooling? Because I definitely am!
Whether your favorite is a Reese's Blizzard, a chocolate-dipped vanilla cone, or something of your own creation, Thanksgiving may not be the day to get it, but Black Friday certainly is!
