On October 10, McDonald's officially dropped their limited edition Chicken Big Mac in restaurants across the U.S., after a successful drop internationally. And considering this version of the Big Mac features everything we already know and love on the OG sandwich, but with the burger patties being replaced with chicken patties, it feels like this would be a homerun.

As McDonald's describes their Chicken Big Mac, this limited edition sandwich "features the toppings fans know and love from the original Big Mac®, but with two tempura battered chicken patties in place of the two all-beef patties for the ultimate twist on the beloved classic. Just like the OG, the Chicken Big Mac is topped with special sauce, lettuce, cheese and pickles on a sesame seed bun."

Sounds delicious right? We hit our closest McDonald's to give it a try for ourselves.

First we have to point out that this sandwich is absolutely delicious. The chicken is perfect thanks to the tempura batter and you just can't go wrong with the fixings that make a Bic Mac, well a Big Mac. These flavors all work together perfectly.

However, this is not a sandwich you can eat on the go, so it is less fast food and more mess food. Unlike even the classic Big Mac, this sandwich is a disaster waiting to happen. Even sitting at a table this was such a mess to eat. It was a delicious mess, but it was a mess.

The chicken patties didn't want to stay on the buns, the lettuce went everywhere (even worse than normal), and it was impossible to really get the full Big Mac experience because nothing would stay together. Even the cheese tried to run away from this sandwich.

Honestly, this is definitely worth trying at least once if you love Big Macs and fried chicken. Just be prepared with plenty of napkins, maybe a bib, and we might even suggest a fork and knife at this point.

What do you think Guilty Eaters? Did you have the same experience with the Chicken Big Mac that we did?
