There are some snacks and treats that go perfectly with a football watch party. Whether we are talking a tasty dip, such as French Onion Dip or a tasty beer, there are some things that just go hand in hand when it comes to our sporting snacks and sips. And thanks to both Heluva Good! Dip and Harpoon Brewery, we have a few different options to make the 2025 Big Game one that we won't forget.
In an effort to remind us of the magic that both of these brands have to offer, it seems that Heluva Good! Dip has partnered with Jesse Palmer to help celebrate the launch of a limited edition Amber Ale inspired by none other than French Onion. Brewed in partnership with Harpoon Brewery, the new French Onion Amber Ale will not be available everywhere, but according to the press email we received, "you can try French Onion Amber Ale at the Harpoon Brewery & Beer Hall in Boston or during exclusive tasting events happening in Philadelphia, New York, and Jacksonville. Head to @heluvagooddips on Instagram for details!"
On top of the special tastings, there is also a giveaway that fans of both Heluva Good! Dip and Harpoon Brewery fans will want to check out on the Heluva Good! Giveaway page.
But what did Jess Palmer have to say about this new brew and his partnership with Heluva Good! Dip? Check out our chat with the Food Network and Bachelor/Bachelorette host below:
Jesse Palmer answers our foodie questions and gets into his partnership with Heluva Good! Dip
Guilty Eats: What was it about Heluva Good! Dip and this particular partnership that made you want to work with them?
Jesse Palmer: "I'm super excited. I'm a huge fan of Heluva Good! Dips. I have them in my house, and this is my favorite time of year. So the Big Game's coming up, it's football season. This is about family and it's about friends. It's about having people over for watch parties, which I love hosting. I always have Heliva Good! Dip at my watch parties. This year, it's going to be no different. It's going to be chips, dips and beer, and there's not a bit there's not a better combination this time of year. So this is great.
And what's really cool about this too, is there's synergy taking place right now between Heluva Good! Dip and Harpoon Brewery in Massachusetts, and this winter they're coming up with a limited edition beer based on the iconic French onion dip flavor from Heluva Good! and they're doing it just in time for the Big Game. So I'm really excited. I've tried this and it's absolutely delicious. People are going to love it. People in Boston, if they're in Boston, they can go to Harpoon's beer hall to try this French Onion Amber Ale. They also are going to get the opportunity to try this around the country at different exclusive tasting events. It's happening in places like Jacksonville, New York and Philadelphia as well. And so people should go on Instagram, and they should go to at Heluva Good! Dips to learn more about this. It's a really, really fun project and for me, it's just it's organic, because I just love both. And this time of year is just my favorite."
GE: So what is your favorite dip from Heluva Good! Dip?
JP: "French onion, which is why I'm excited about the limited edition beer. This dip is my favorite. I'm a jalapeno cheddar fan as well. I will say bacon horse radish too. Put bacon in anything, it's good. I met a chef once who said, if you add bacon or corn to anything, it tastes better."
GE: I have to ask, because I'm a big fan of you on Food Network, I want to know how is hosting a food baking competition different for you from doing any of your other projects?
JP: "Well, it tastes better that's for sure. So the thing about me, like hosting, I just love people, and I love being around people that are passionate about things. On Food Network, just being in the kitchen with all those talented bakers, some are professionals, some are home bakers, they all just love what they're doing. And so I just love being around them and and talking to them about that. I have so much fun with our judges, with Duff and Nancy and Carla and Damaris, we have so much fun together backstage, on set, interacting with everybody. But I'm a huge foodie, so if you're going to tell me that I'm going to work and eat delicious things at the same time and get paid for it, I'm on board."
GE: Since you're now part of the Food Network family, have you found that it has changed the way you watch... do you watch cooking competitions now? Do you enjoy watching what's happening on Food Network?
JP: "Yes, all the time. And you know, the cool part about it is that I was already a huge Food Network fan anyway, and I was already watching along. I mean, I grew up as a kid, I think, like, back to Emeril Lagasse and all these different cooking shows that I would watch. My mom was a great cook growing up, so I was in the kitchen with her all the time too. But I do love watching the other competition shows. As a host of some, you always sort of wonder what's happening behind the scenes, right? I always am empathetic, and I feel for the contestants on the shows, because I know how stressful our shows are. So I can only imagine what some of the other ones are too. But I'm kind of one of those people that pulls for everybody. Yeah, and my wife and I watch a lot. We always try to pick who's going to win at the start of the year, and we kind of follow along. And it's the stories of the contestants, oftentimes that I think really is what hooks you and pulls you in. I love watching."
