If you keep up with the modeling or fitness world, it's hard to overlook Kate Austin. The daughter of renowned fitness guru Denise Austin, Kate has rapidly risen to fame, amassing an impressive following of over 435,000 on Instagram and 740,500 on TikTok.
At Guilty Eats, we had the pleasure of speaking with her about her modeling journey, wellness tips, and her new cooking show, Come On In. She also shared insights on preparing for the holiday season and starting the new year off right.
Guilty Eats: What made you get into modeling?
Katie Austin: I always wanted to be in SI SWIMSUIT from a young age, as I used to scroll through the pages idolizing the strong female athletes. I was fresh out of playing lacrosse in college, doubling as a fitness trainer and a sports host for Fox Sports West. I needed a little extra money and knew there couldn’t have been a ton of lacrosse players in LA, so I used my skill to my advantage and pitched myself as a fitness model who could play lacrosse! I booked one of my first shoots for Nike. In 2017, SI SWIMSUIT opened up for online auditions for the first time ever! I auditioned year after year and finally won in 2021.
GE: When did your love for fitness and wellness begin?
KA: Fitness and wellness have really always been instilled in me from a young age, as I played lacrosse and tennis since I was 7. I am a huge advocate for getting girls involved in sports to teach them to exercise for their sport - rather than focusing on weightlessness or aesthetics.
My dad was a professional tennis player, and my mom just so happened to have her own fitness TV show. My mom, Denise Austin, was a pioneer in the fitness industry, and she taught me everything I needed to know!!
I’ve always viewed exercise as treating your body right - as we have one life, make it count. Working out makes me more positive, have more energy, and feel more confidence and that’s why I’ve always been drawn to inspiring others to move.
GE: You recently launched a new cooking show Come on In, can you tell me a little bit about
it and how it came to fruition?
KA: Yes! I am so proud of it. If you go back to my YouTube channel circa 2015, you will find baby me setting up the camera and pressing record myself in my parents' house, making a “college dorm room menu.” I have always looked up to Rachael Ray and loved having her on in the background of whatever I was doing in the house.
I pitched a cooking show a few times throughout the years, but nothing really stuck. Earlier this year, I was looking for ways to bring back a little life to my content creation. As a recipe and fitness creator, there are only so many recipes and exercises you can do! I wanted to finally pursue my dream of having a cooking show — and realized we live in a day and age where we can create anything ourselves! We can be the creator, producer, writer, editor, and distributor!
It lives across all my social media platforms. I aired my first episode just last month, and it’s been so well received — it got over 200,000 views on the first episode!
GE: What’s your favorite recipe overall?
KA: For dinner, if you’re trying to keep it simple, I always love to make a one-pan pasta dish! Yummy! You can get creative with it, and it’s easy to clean up. I have tons of amazing recipes for busy women who are trying to stay healthy on KatieAustin.tv or the Katie Austin app for free!!
My favorite cocktail recipe is my Holiday Aperol Spritz! It’s a festive twist on the classic Aperol Spritz and is perfect for holiday hosting. For hassle-free entertaining, I always serve drinks in Repurpose compostable stemless wine cups. These sustainable cups give your cocktails the best presentation while making cleanup and entertaining a breeze!

GE: Any helpful info for those who are hosting holiday parties?
KA: Keep it simple and prep beforehand! Start earlier than you think. Time always will crunch in on you. Prepping little things throughout the week or a few days before always helps.
Repurpose, the leading compostable household goods brand, offers non-toxic alternatives to single-use plastic, making it easy to swap in sustainable, chic options for your favorite party-hosting essentials. They have everything from plates and cutlery to hot and cold cups - including my must-have product for hosting – stemless wine cups! To make cleaning up after hosting even easier, they also have super strong bamboo paper towels! They make hosting easy and eco-friendly while keeping the aesthetically pleasing vibe I love for parties.
People often overlook the junk and toxins in their products. Many kitchen goods contain PFAS, or “forever chemicals.” That’s why I choose compostable options with no PFAS added from Repurpose for everyday use and holiday hosting, which are better for you, your guests, and the environment.
GE: What tips would you give to those who have resolutions for 2025?
KA: January is chapter 1 of 12. You don’t have to have it all figured out - but make sure you’re setting REALISTIC and attainable goals. Don’t add any resolutions you don’t think can stick past the third week of January. Small goals, develop a plan, and phone in your friend or spouse for accountability!
I have tons of virtual on-demand classes on the Katie Austin platform, where you can work out from the comfort of your own home - saving you time and money. They’re efficient and effective. I have a strength and inner power program launching on Jan. 6, just in time for New Year’s resolutions!
