On October 1, McAlister's Deli brought back their iconic Witch's Brew lemonade for a limited time. And they also launched a special holiday treat as well, a Trick-or-Treat Cookie. Both items are set to be available through October 31, making them perfect additions to our 2024 spooky season.

And in order to really get into the spooky season spirit, McAlister's Deli partnered with Halloweentown's own, Kimberly J. Brown. If there is one actress who really understands the magic of spooky season, it has to be Brown, as she has certainly made a name for herself with Halloween movies.

From Halloweentown to Rose Red, Kimberly J. Brown knows spooky season. So it makes sense that McAlister's Deli decided to partner with her to really celebrate their two spooky menu items for October. And really, Witch's Brew seems like the perfect fit for the actress.

We here at Guilty Eats had the chance to chat with Brown about this partnership and all things Halloween.

Guilty Eats: What inspired you to want to work with McAlister's Deli?

"I love that they love to serve great food with genuine hospitality to everybody. They mean it when they say, everybody has a seat at their table. And I can really think of no better place for friends and families to come together for Halloween celebrations, because Halloween is all about celebrating our uniqueness and where everybody is welcome to come and celebrate.
I have genuinely loved Halloween since I was a kid. I realize I have been in some very prominent Halloween movies, but that was very personally gratifying to me as well, because I loved making the costumes when I was a kid and looked forward to the treats, of course, because that was the excuse to eat more treats and celebrate with family and friends.
So I was thrilled to partner up with McAlister's Deli because they are bringing back their highly anticipated Witch's Brew this year, which sold out and went viral last year, and they're debuting their new trick or treat cookie, which is a soft, buttery with a little hint of cinnamon, and delicious cookie with some surprise orange cream cheese inside. So it's very fitting for a spooky season celebration, because I think we look for those little magical surprises and things when we're all celebrating together. So it just it felt really like a beautiful, natural partnership. And I'm excited for everybody to go to McAlister's Deli and try the treats."

Guilty Eats: At McAlister's, do you have a go to menu item?

"I'm definitely partial to McAllister's Deli salads. I love their chicken breast and their most recent one I had was the Savannah Chop Salad. And I think, though my husband was with me, and he would argue the McAlister's Club is probably his favorite. And he also got to try the trick or treat cookie before everybody else, which he felt very special about. And he would like me to report that it's delicious."

Guilty Eats: Since we are Guilty Eats, we have to ask, what is your guilty eat?

"It's not as much of a guilty eat, but well, dark chocolate. Chocolate in any form, but yes, dark chocolate, and if you want to throw some chunks of Himalayan salt in there. It's a magical combination. Pardon the pun... You know, perhaps it's not as much of a guilt to eat. But when I really want to go for true treats, I think you've got to go for, like, a classic chocolate chip cookie too, because you get the the balance. So those are the first two that popped into my head."
