Last place? Miller Lite Has the fantasy football punishment you’ll dread
By Trey Weston
Week 14 of the NFL season wrapped up on Monday with the Cincinnati Bengals defeating the Dallas Cowboys, marking the end of the regular fantasy football season. For some, it means advancing to the playoffs, while others must wait until next year for another shot after being eliminated. However, worse than missing the playoffs is finishing in last place — and Miller Lite is taking that humiliation to the next level.
A last-place punishment from Miller Lite
Starting today, Miller Lite is introducing "Miller Lite Last Place-ments," billed as the ultimate fantasy football punishment. This new concept puts the last-place finisher of your league front and center in ads that will appear on Miller Lite billboards and digital platforms.
To make this the punishment for your league's loser, fans aged 21 and older can nominate the last-place finisher in their ESPN fantasy football league at www.millerlite.com/lastplacements. Nominations are open through Jan. 5.
"From spending 24 hours in a diner to retaking standardized tests, classic last place Fantasy Football punishments gives longtime friends the chance to come together," said Alan Bremerkamp, Director of Marketing for Miller Lite in a press release. "While this punishment isn't really much of a punishment, Miller Lite is excited to give old friends a new tongue-in-cheek way to celebrate Fantasy Football and the worst bracket of their league."
Personally, I’ve been fortunate to avoid a last-place finish throughout my fantasy football career, but I’ve always found the punishment aspect intriguing. While some outside the community may consider it cruel, the reality is that it’s part of what you sign up for when joining a league.
If you’re looking for a unique and funny way to call out your last-place finisher, be sure to submit a nomination using the link above. And to all the Christian McCaffrey fantasy owners out there, we feel your pain!
