7-Eleven’s 2024 Slurpee Day plans include more free Slurpees than ever before

You can get one on 7/11, but also might win free Slurpees for a year.

Slurpee Day, aka July 11, aka 7/11, is a national holiday. I would argue we should get off for the day, so we can spend a full 24 hours loving and appreciating Slurpees. But apparently that’s “not legal” and I’ll have to “pack up my desk and go” if I keep shouting about this in the Guilty Eats offices.

That said, Slurpee Day is coming, and this year not only can you snag a free Slurpee – but you might able to win free Slurpees for a whole year.

Here’s how it works. To celebrate the 97th birthday of 7-Eleven, you can go to any 7-Eleven, Stripes, or Speedway store (who is participating) and walk out with a free small Slurpee. That’s pretty much the whole thing, though I’ll note that A) you might want to get there early, and B) make sure your local shop is participating. I’ve been in plenty of situations where I either got there too late in the afternoon and they were momentarily all out of Slurpees, or stopped by a store that just wasn’t giving them away free. In the latter case, I had to buy a Slurpee, and it was so terrible.

But what about the other 364 days of the year? Well, 7-Eleven is allowing rewards members the chance to win free drinks and snacks, including Slurpees, for a whole year by purchasing select products. That includes CELSIUS drinks, though of note there’s actually no purchase necessary. If you want to find out more, you can check out the official rules. But beyond CELSIUS, you can also buy Doritos, M&Ms, many of the hot foods and deli items, and more. Or nothing! Just mail in your entry and fingers crossed.

There are 2000 winners total, who will get one snack or drink reward per day, for 365 days. Those choices include a small Slurpee, M&Ms, Doritos, a CELSIUS drink, a Dreyer’s Drumstick, a 20-ounce Coke, or Smartwater. Not too shabby.

The celebrations don’t stop there. Partnering with the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, 7-Eleven is releasing a limited edition Slurpee drink cup, which will raise funds to help pediatric cancer patients.

"Slurpee Day is our annual celebration of 7-Eleven's birthday and our iconic frozen drink; it's a day of joy, community and good old-fashioned summer fun," Marissa Jarratt, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing & Sustainability Officer at 7-Eleven, Inc. via a press release provided to Guilty Eats. "We are thrilled to share the nostalgia and create new memories with Children's Miracle Network Hospitals and our customers who cherish this tradition so dearly."

Oh, and one last thing… If you’re a rewards member, scan at the store on Slurpee Day and you will get another free small Slurpee, to be redeemed before July 31. Now there’s something to stand on your desk and shout about! Wait, I’m again being told not to do that. Never mind.
