Now you can play Tetris on your Slurpee, because why not?

7-Eleven is celebrating Tetris’s 40th anniversary with a line of limited-edition merchandise.

When you think about the classic video game Tetris, if you’re like me, not only does the theme music start playing on a loop in your head but you also immediately revert to the trauma of playing the game so much, that blocks would start falling when you closed your eyes. Well, now Tetris is back for its 40th anniversary, and you can play it on a Slurpee.

Okay, not an actual Slurpee. Instead, 7-Eleven has teamed up with the Tetris Company to produce a line of products based on the game that includes a My Arcade limited release in the shape of a Slurpee that allows you to play Tetris on the back.

“We know our customers are passionate gaming enthusiasts who also appreciate a healthy dose of nostalgia – making this collaboration with Tetris a perfect fit,” said Marissa Jarratt, Executive Vice President, Chief Marketing & Sustainability Officer via a press release provided to Guilty Eats. “We’re excited to bring fans of these iconic brands a unique, one-of-a-kind way to play the classic arcade game they love.” 

The Tetris Slurpee, or whatever we’re calling it, is limited to 20,000 limited edition units, and can be won by purchasing participating products via 7Rewards, Speedy Rewards, or 7NOW Delivery. You can also get seven extra entries when you purchase a Slurpee, Big Gulp, Big Bite hot dogs, as well as Red Bull, and a few other products. You can also purchase it on 7Collection, where a limited supply will be available.

“As we mark the milestone 40th anniversary of Tetris, we are excited to announce our partnership with 7-Eleven, another iconic brand beloved across generations,” said Maya Rogers, CEO of Tetris added. “This collaboration celebrates our spirit of innovation and delivers fans with a new, fun way to experience Tetris.” 

Beyond your chance to win this weird mash-up product, you can also get some retro shirts, hoodies, hats, stickers, keychains or totes, also on 7Collection.
