Yes, A Quiet Place: Day One’s Patsy’s Pizzeria is real (is it worth the hype?)

A Quiet Place: Day One, starring Lupita Nyong’o, is now playing in theaters. The apocalyptic thriller features action, aliens, and… Pizza? Yes, deliciously cheesy pizza from Patsy’s Pizzeria.

In A Quiet Place: Day One, we meet Samira (Nyong’o) a young woman living in a New York hospice due to terminal cancer. Samira prefers keeping to herself and staying in. The only way Samira’s nurse, Reuben (Alex Wolff), can get Samira to accompany him and a group of patients to the city is by bribing Samira with pizza. And here at Guilty Eats, we totally get that. Food works, every single time. Especially pizza, are you kidding? It’s the best fast food in America, and this isn’t up for discussion.

Unfortunately, an alien invasion strikes, interrupting the play they're seeing pre-pizza. Chaos and mass destruction ensue, leaving Samira and other struggling survivors stranded. The first thing on their minds? Seek shelter! Oh, but on Samira’s mind? Pizza. That’s right, Samira is still determined to get a pizza from Patsy’s Pizzeria. I mean, the world is ending, so why not?

Even though I’m pretty sure all Patsy’s Pizzeria employees have left the building (you know, because aliens), Samira knows there is a cold, stale pizza pie somewhere in there. Watching Samira take on this dangerous journey to Patsy’s begs the question – is Patsy’s Pizzeria a real pizza chain?

Yes, Patsy’s Pizzeria is real and there are several locations in NY

Local New Yorkers are probably rolling their eyes since Patsy’s Pizzeria isn’t a hidden gem or high-end restaurant. It’s a pizza chain. But hey, most of us didn't know that! The location Samira is trying to get to is in Harlem, so we’re assuming this is the address, in case you're interested: 2287 1st Ave., New York, NY 10035.

Now, is it worth the hype? If Samira says so, then yes! Online, the pizzeria has a review rating of 4.5, so that’s not too shabby! However, for Samira, this is about more than a slice of pizza, of course. There are sentimental reasons why she wants to go to that particular place, but I won’t spoil it for you here. You'll have to watch the movie yourself.

If you’re a NY local, do you recommend foodies check out Patsy’s Pizzeria next time we’re in town?
