Adidas and Tim Hortons unite for a tasty (non-edible) sneaker collab
By Trey Weston
Shoes are meant for wearing, not for looking tasty. Right? Maybe so, but Tim Hortons has just announced a sneaker collaboration with Adidas that we never knew we needed. And it comes just in time for National Donut Day, which takes place tomorrow.
In celebration of the holiday and 60 years of being in business, Tim Hortons has developed four donut-inspired Addidas Samba sneaker designs. Unfortunately, the shoes aren't available for sale but instead are won by visiting this link to enter a contest that runs until Friday.
The four specific designs include some of the more iconic donuts during the 60-year Tim's run: Boston Creme, Honey Cruller, Vanilla Dip, and Double Chocolate.
"We're marking our 60th anniversary with a number of fun surprises for our loyal guests throughout the year and we're thrilled to be partnering with Adidas for a celebration of some of the most iconic Tims donuts ever," said Hope Bagozzi, Chief Marketing Officer at Tim Hortons, via press release.
Below is a look at the four sneakers available to be won:
Personally, I am a big fan of the Vanilla Dip one, both as a shoe and a donut. The shoe seems to have the most personality, and I like how they incorporated the sprinkles on the color lining. Boston Creme also has a pretty cool color pattern that helps to bring out the iconic Tim Horton donut.
All in all, it's hard to believe that the company has been around for 60 years. With most of the locations in Canada, I always take advantage of the opportunity to visit the Mid-Atlantic ones in the United States.
Of note, this collab is only available for people in Canada who are 16+. That means for us in the States, we will have to wait for the next cool sneaker collab over here.
But to my friends up North. Will you be placing an entry in this contest?
