Applebee’s Cinco de Mayo specials are all about the margs

It’s Cinco de Mayo, and Applebee’s knows that with your free and discount tacos, what you really want is a cheap margarita. On that, they’ve got you covered as just in time to save the day, Applebee’s $1 margarita has returned – no offer code necessary.

“We’re bringing back everyone’s favorite $1 margarita just in time for Cinco de Mayo,” said Nathan Grover, Executive Director, Bar & Beverage at Applebee’s, via press release. “Whether toasting with our classic DOLLARITA or sipping on our premium spirited Rock & Berry Rita or Breaking Rock Rita, Applebee’s has all your margarita bases covered. Grab your friends, order some drinks and appetizers – like our NEW Chicken & Bacon Loaded Fries – and sip your way to summer!”

Grover, per the name of the Sesame Street character, did a great job of explaining all of this. But we’ll break it down in non-corporate language.

As of May 1, 2024, and continuing all month long – including today, May 5, aka Cinco de Mayo – Applebee’s has their $1 margarita, known as the Dollarita. It’s made with tequila, triple sec, and lime. And for an additional 50 cents, you can add a flavor like strawberry, mango, passion fruit, peach, or blue raspberry.

That’s the basic special, but there’s also some Cerveza & Sips deals to take advantage of if you want to splurge on another few bucks for a drink. For $5, you can get a Dos Equis Brewtus draft beer, or a Rock & Berry Rita, which is a strawberry margarita featuring The Rock’s Teremana Blanco Tequila, served in an Applebee’s Mucho glass.

Or for a budget-busting $9, you can get a Breaking Rock Rita, which is described as “slightly smoky” and features both The Rock’s Teremana Tequila, as well as Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston’s Dos Hombres Mezcal, blue curacao, lime, and a rock candy garnish. It’s also poured tableside and served with a chilled shaker tin like you’re some sort of celebrity or something. And this is fun because it’s inspired by the blue meth from Breaking Bad, and who doesn’t love doing meth?

One more deal to throw your way… If you save your receipt from getting a drink with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s tequila, you can scan it and upload it to GuacOnTheRock.com, and get free guacamole, on The Rock. That’s not an Applebee’s deal, we’re just looking out for you here.

Back to Applebee’s, all of these deals are for dine-in, of course – unless you live in a state with allowable drinks-to-go laws (not the technical, legal term). In which case, the Cerveza & Sips also have a to-go option.
