July 26 is National Auntie Day and in honor of this holiday, Auntie Anne's is settling a long-standing debate. How do we really say the word Auntie?

Considering there are technically two options for how one pronounces Auntie, AHN-TEE or ANT-EE, it makes sense that there might be some debate over how it is really said. Well, Auntie Anne's is settling the great debate with the help of a survey from Talker Research.

If you Google Auntie Anne's the bot pronounces the chain, ANT-EE Anne's. But it seems as if the majority of people who responded to the survey actually pronounce the word AHN-TEE. However, does that actually impact how they pronounce the store name?

According to the data we received from the brand, it seems like there is no wrong way to say the name Auntie Ann'e, because it is really all about the pretzels. That being said, we do have some ideas about what people say when they see the store name.

"The classic pretzel chain surveyed far and wide, and the data shows that more than half of Americans say AHN-TEE!

However, Auntie Anne’s reputation precedes punctuation, and even those who call their aunts AHN-TEE do still call the brand ANT-EE Anne’s!"

According to Auntie Anne's "celebrate National Auntie Day by enjoying a free Cinnamon Sugar or Original Pretzel with the purchase of any pretzel item."

We are always down for a free pretzel, and especially from one of our favorite pretzel places. So while we may have to go for a bit of a drive to get our hands on salty (or sweet) goodness, we are definitely planning to celebrate National Auntie Day with a treat.
