Anyone who has visited Chick-fil-A knows they are highly regarded for their delicious chicken and fast and friendly service. But the company recently made an announcement that was not on anyone's 2024 bingo card.
According to a Deadline report on Wednesday, Chick-fil-A is said to be in the process of developing a streaming service. Yes, you heard me correctly, a streaming service. While details on what exactly will be on the platform are still being finalized, it is said that family-friendly shows will be a huge part of it.
In a side quest of Snoop Dogg proportions, it seems Chick-fil-A has decided to dominate another area after holding a sizeable lead over its competitors in the chicken department. And now, it is time to enter the streaming wars where they will attempt to compete with the likes of Disney+, Peckock, Max, and Netflix.
Now, if you're anything like me, you are asking what a show on a Chick-fil-A streaming platform looks like. Will it be something that you would see on TBN? Will they morph Code Moo cow into some type of kid's animated TV show? Or, could they possibly try to acquire rights for some shows already out there, like other streaming platforms? Who knows, you may be unable to access the platform on Sundays.
All jokes aside, there is a lot of curiosity surrounding this announcement, and we'll likely be hearing more from Chick-fil-A in the coming months. But I am all for them trying something else, as long as their delicious chicken and other items don't suffer in the process.
That said, as more and more streaming services pop up and cable television continues to become a thing of the past, does Chick-fil-A have a chance to break into it?
Would you check out a streaming service from the go-to spot for chicken? Does this have potential to have good quality content?
