Burger King Fiery Menu review: A pleasant hint of spice to the current Burger King menu
By Trey Weston
A little over a week ago, Burger King announced that they would be releasing a spicy menu. The lineup featured a list of spicy items that ranged from a spice level of 1-5. Over the weekend, I tried a few of the items, as I wanted to see what the hype was about.
Initially, I contemplated ordering all five items but elected not to save some calories. I ultimately ended up choosing three items: the Fiery Mozerella Fries, Fiery Chicken fries, and, of course, the Firery Strawberry & Sprite.
Starting with the first spice level of this journey was the Sprite, which was said to be mixed with a Fiery puree to dial up the heat. After taking one sip, I instantly knew it was not for me. The drink left a weird aftertaste that did not sit well on my tastebuds. Although the creativity was a win, I had to order another drink to eliminate the bad taste
Moving up to level two, I had the Mozzarella Fries, which contain a Fiery Calabrian pepper breading to give it the spicy element. As soon I took one bite from it, I knew it was an instant winner. The fries were fresh and crunchy while having a great cheese pull.
And finally, for my last item from this spice-filled adventure, I tried the level four Chicken Fries. They were described by Burger King as being marinated with a Fiery seasoning and coated in savory garlic and pepper breading. Like the Mozzarella Fries, these were fresh and crispy while packing the most spiciness of the three I tried.
Overall, aside from the Sprite, I felt like the fiery menu was a winner. If you get the Chicken or Mozerella Fries fresh, then you will enjoy the hint of spice that comes with them. But, if you're a spicy food enthusiast like myself, the levels will be a cakewalk.
