For the second year in a row, Chipotle is offering a buy one, get one free deal to hockey fans if you wear a hockey jersey in-store on Monday, April 22, 2024. The deal is in celebration of this year’s Stanley Cup Playoffs – and if you bring your whole hockey team to Chipotle, you should be able to feed about half of them!

“As a brand that appreciates the unmatched passion of the hockey community, we take great pride in fueling the sport's spirited fans and top athletes with our real food,” said Chris Brandt, Chief Brand Officer at Chipotle, via a press release provided to Guilty Eats.

Here’s how the deal works. After 3 pm local time at Chipotles in the U.S. and Canada, head into the store wearing your favorite hockey jersey. Once there, you can get up to five free menu items per check, subject to availability. Additionally, each free item requires the purchase of an entrée item - hence the “buy one” part of the whole BOGO thing. And the order can only be collected by the jersey-wearer.

Given there are usually 20 players on a hockey team, that means you can feed about half the players on this BOGO deal. All you have to do is choose the best 10 players on the team and then leave the other 10 players outside sobbing, scratching at the window as they desperately try to smell one whiff of the delectable Chipotle inside.

Or alternatively, you can have two people in jerseys come into the store and get separate checks. That’s also a possibility.

As part of the hockey promo, the Chipotle logo will be displayed on the ice during every one of the Stanley Cup playoff games. And even better, Chipotle recently gave the entire U.S. National Junior roster and support staff in the Chipotle USA Hockey Youth National Championship free burritos for a year to celebrate beating Sweden in the World Junior gold medal game. So they probably won’t be taking advantage of this BOGO deal, I’m guessing.
