Snack time doesn't have to mean boring. And if you want to elevate a charcuterie board, enjoy a quick bite of meats and cheese, or just really love salami, then Columbus Craft Meats has you covered.

However, the most exciting announcement came in August, as Columbus Craft Meats revealed that they were bringing back the fan favorite Salame Secchi Fiore. What makes this meat so popular? Well how about the fact that this is a dry aged salami that has notes of burgundy wine, as well as bits of crushed black and white pepper throughout. It's a classic for the brand and one that they have been making for quite some time.

One thing we recently learned about the Salame Secchi Fiore from Columbus Craft Meats is that this is "one of Columbus' oldest recipes and a testament to over 100 years of expertise in crafting exceptional charcuterie." And we can believe it.

We had the opportunity to taste the Salame Secchi Fiore for ourselves, and I have to say that it was a rather unique experience when paired with the cheeses I normally eat with other salami. I have to say that the rind around the meat was not something I personally wanted to eat, although it is something you can eat. It can add something different to the flavor, or at least it felt that way to me. However, I went without that rind. I really feel like the blends of peppercorns and the wine adds a nice flavor over all, which makes this a must have for any charcuterie board.

Once I tried this salami, I knew I needed a much more robust cheese to play off of the meat, which is why a nutty Parmesan was on the table for this snack time experience. Cheddar was okay, but this is a meat that felt like it needs a more indulgent cheese.

When I first tried this one I did not know what to expect. I expected this to be a bit on the fatty side, but I was pleasantly surprised. This is definitely the kind of salami you want to eat with a red wine, but at the same time, this is also good with just cheese and crackers with whatever you want to sip on.

I can imagine plenty of holiday parties with this on the board, and I feel like we would be the talk of the town with the Salame Secchi Fiore at the table.

But we want to know what you think. Are you a fan of Columbus Craft Meats? Have you tried the Salame Secchi Fiore yet?
