Today, May 24, 2024, is Endless Breakfast Day. Technically if you eat breakfast three meals a day anyway, plus snacks, then every day is Endless Breakfast Day. But there’s only one day a year when we officially celebrate it. And to celebrate, Denny’s is bringing back their All You Can Eat Pancakes Meal for the first time since 2022.
That’s right… On May 24, 2023, Endless Breakfast Day was celebrated with a non-endless supply of pancakes at Denny’s. In fact, one might call it an ended breakfast, because presumably breakfast ended at some point, I don’t know. But as is, now the deal is back and for only $5.99, you can eat as many pancakes as you want, for cheap.
The deal starts off with a stack of three buttermilk pancakes, and then from there you can get endless refills of pancakes, two pancakes at a time. Which is pretty good, because pacing yourself when it comes to starchy, filling pancakes is a must. Why, I bet the regular customer can get through upwards of one refill on pancakes, if that! Myself I could barely eat half of that first stack of three without feeling full for the rest of the day! Perhaps Endless Breakfast Day is not for me, I don’t know!
While Endless Breakfast Day is only one day long, a rep for the restaurant told Guilty Eats that the chain uses 4.6 million quarts of buttermilk annually, which is about 1.14 million gallons. And when it comes to pancakes, Denny’s guests consume approximately 9.7 million pounds a year.
Since Google is no longer reliable at all thanks to their horrible AI update, a cursory glance through a number of sources show the average pancake weighs anywhere from 28 to 34 grams. For simplicity, let’s say each Denny’s pancake is 30 grams on average (it’s not, but whatever), so divided into the pounds above that means Denny’s customers eat approximately 146,661,533 pancakes per year. That’s an average of 401,812 pancakes per day, which is what your goal should be on Endless Breakfast Day to really throw these numbers off.
Regardless, hope you enjoy the endless supply of pancakes today. I’ll be over here enjoying my ended supply of one and a half.
