Move over Edward 40 Hands, it’s time for Dunkin’ 40 oz Iced Coffee at Home

…which isn’t as catchy, but it’s way more delicious.

There’s a game some folks play, usually in college, called Edward 40 Hands. The idea is that you take two 40-ouncers of malt liquor and duct tape them to your hands, so you have to finish them over the course of the night, and also, you can’t use your hands. Nothing against anyone who enjoys this game, but it’s gross and makes you feel bad, and you should feel bad if you play it. But no judgment!

You know what’s not gross, makes you feel great, and comes in 40 ounces, as well? Dunkin’s line of 40-ounce, ready-to-drink bottled iced coffees. They’re now back in stores, and better than ever with four different flavors.

Made with 100% Arabica coffee, each 12-oz serving has approximately 120-380 mg of caffeine. In case you can’t do the math, that’s a little less than four servings per bottle. I did the math for you. You’re welcome.

Anyway, you can get the 40-ounce bottles in four flavors, as mentioned: Original, Caramel, Butter Pecan, and Unsweetened. In case you couldn’t figure out from the last flavor, yes, normally these bottles are sweetened with cane sugar… Something that I didn’t actually know when I tried the Original flavor, provided to Guilty Eats by Dunkin’. And you know what? It’s pretty great.

Mind you, if you prefer your coffee without sugar, naturally you’ll want to go for the Unsweetened version. I generally drink my hot coffee with only milk in the morning. But if I do go for a Dunkin’ run, it’s usually whole milk and sugar all the way, baby! While this is only lightly sweetened, adding a little 2% in there was mostly unnecessary. The coffee is smooth, lightly sweet, and ready to drink.

It’s also pretty nice to have a 40-ouncer in the fridge, to supplement my already daily coffee habit. I usually have a cup and a half in the morning; this afternoon I poured a half glass of the Dunkin’ Iced Coffee because it was available, and had a quick little late-in-the-day pick-me-up.

Anyway, sales pitch over, back to the sales pitch. The newest item in the line, if you don’t want to commit to a whole bottle in your fridge, is single-serve Caramel Iced Coffee. It comes in a 13.7-ounce bottle and joins the other varieties available including Mocha, French Vanilla, and Original.

You can find both varieties nationwide, and to be uber-clear at the end here: do not play Edward 40 Hands with these 40-ounce bottles of iced coffee. They may not make you feel gross in the same way as the malt liquor, but you know: that’s a lot of coffee. Sip it slow is the way to go, as we always say!
