El Pollo Loco is stuffed with deals for Cinco de Mayo

You don’t have to wait until Sunday to take advantage of some crazy good deals at the chain whose name translates as “Crazy Chicken.” By which we mean El Pollo Loco is gearing for the holiday with non-stop deals until May 5, 2024.

Why are they doing this? Per info provided to Guilty Eats: “El Pollo Loco is offering these amazing deals to celebrate the festive occasion of Cinco de Mayo, a holiday that is widely celebrated in the United States as a day of Mexican heritage and pride. By offering these deals, the restaurant chain aims to provide customers with a fun, flavorful and tasty way to join the celebrations.”

That’s very nice and I appreciate the callout to heritage and pride but let’s talk deals, baby!

In fact, several of the deals are already active for Loco Rewards Members: this whole week, you can get $20 off a $100 catering order – perfect for your Cinco party – and if you buy a $50 eGift card, you can get a $10 Bonus. Which is also nice but unless I missed something the only gifts we exchange on Cinco de Mayo are tacos and margaritas. Maybe I’m doing it wrong, I don’t know.

Those are the weeklong deals, but there’s a new one today, May 3, 2024, only: buy a carnitas stuffed quesadilla, and get one free. Then tomorrow, on May 4, 2024, you can get two carnitas tacos free with the purchase of a two carnitas tacos combo.

This all crests on the day itself, May 5, Cinco de Mayo, when Loco Rewards Members can get two free shredded chicken crunchy tacos with any in-app order of $10 or more, as well as no delivery fee all day long. By my count, that's four tacos, which is a good amount of tacos. I'll need more, but we can start there.
