f'real launches plant-based flavor with hopes of attracting Gen Z consumers

If you've ever stepped into a gas station, movie theater, or college campus, you've likely encountered a f'real machine. The unique thing about them is they allow you to take a cup featuring some of the best flavors and have it turn into a milkshake in front of your eyes in 60 seconds. And now, the company has created a new flavor that looks to capitalize on the vegan movement.
Heading to retailers nationwide on September 30 is the Choco Choco Chip Oat Shake, which features plant-based oat milk and rich chocolate chips. Also, just like every f'real shake, the option is available to determine how thick you want the drink to be, which is something you can't control when you get one at your favorite fast food spots or restaurants.
"With chocolate being one of the most popular flavors amongst f'real's core lineup and the growth of the oat milk category, we're thrilled to introduce a new oat milk-based alternative that is both on-trend and satisfying," said Meghan Grinstead, Rich Products Corporation Vice President of Customer Marketing and Strategy in a press release.
Younger consumers like dairy-free options and trendy products
A big reason for f'real pivoting from their standard dairy flavors is because more and more younger people are seeking plant-based options. They also are more inclined to follow trends that appear on TikTok or Instagram, which the company hopes will come from this release.
That said, after the recent releases of Cinnamon Churro, Birthday Cake Batter, and the recent mystery flavor. Another limited-time option arrives as f'real's first non-dairy shake, containing oak milk instead.
As someone who falls in the Gen Z category, I still believe that the best way to enjoy a milkshake is with milk, despite the movement going on from others from the generation. But those searching for something different won't want to miss this plant-based shake option.
